Creole-American Family Night: Celebrating 10 Years of Culture, Community, and Legacy

(EAST MEADOW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence) extended his heartfelt congratulations to the organizers of the 10th annual Creole-American Family Night at Eisenhower Park. This remarkable event, proudly supported by Kompa Guide and Haitian Americans United for Progress (HAUP), took place on Monday, July 3, and featured a dazzling performance by Tabou Combo, the legendary Haitian compas band that has captivated audiences worldwide since 1968. Over 6,000 attendees gathered at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater to celebrate this unforgettable evening. Following the concert, Legislator Solages presented a Nassau County Legislature Citation to Tabou Combo in recognition of their extraordinary 55-year legacy of inspiring and entertaining music lovers around the globe. “The resounding success of this event is a testament to the vibrant diversity that makes Nassau County such a wonderful place to live and raise a family,” Legislator Solages remarked. “Thank you to Kompa Guide, HAUP, the Nassau County Police Department, the Parks Department, all the performers, and the sponsors who made this night so extraordinary. Above all, thank you to Tabou Combo for 55 years of sharing your incredible talent and uplifting our culture.” Under the visionary leadership of Gina Faustin, founder of Kompa Guide and co-founder of Creole-American Family Night, and Elsie Saint Louis, Executive Director of HAUP, this event has evolved into a cornerstone celebration for the Haitian community.
